Located in NYC, Tokyo Bar is covered with Japanese Manga illustrations and neon lights. The little restaurant has specialized in Japanese-style Western food. Kashiwa Sato created the branding, love it. (source)
Taeyang is back. After waiting for what felt like forever, he is finally back and hotter than ever. I can’t even begin to describe how much his new album was needed, especially for me. Its not even just because I’m such a big fan of his, but because his music always does something for me. It really moves me, eases my mind, helps me get through so much, and even inspires me. With what I’ve been going through lately, I felt like this was my saving grace. What makes this album different is that after listening to it in its entirety, there is a rawness in each and every song, and much attention to detail, that shows he really has grown in terms of an artist and as a person. I’m so glad he was able to find who he really is and a way to express that.
눈, 코, 입 is just on repeat for me right now. Even if you didn’t tell me this was the title track, I would have picked it out myself. The thing I love most about this track is that it is all in Korean. There are no English one liners inserted anywhere, it is just all in Korean. As stupid as I sound, especially because I’m not Korean, it makes me love the song that much more lol. To me, it really shows that Taeyang just wanted to make a damn good song.. Not some chart topping hit that would try to appeal to a global audience, but a song that just properly expresses what he wants to express in the most sincere way possible. And well, to me anyway, the best way to do that is to do it in your native language. Duh right? Thats why I am in love with and can’t get enough of this song. Its pure Korean, pure feelings, pure Taeyang.
